DOWN — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
DOWN ("the game") is a VR game for the immersive web, available at playdownvr.web.app and on the Meta Horizon Store. This policy explains what information the game handles. The short version: we collect almost nothing, and nothing that identifies you unless you choose to enter it.
Information you choose to provide
If you finish a run, you may optionally enter a display name to leave your mark. That name and the time it was submitted are stored in our database (Google Cloud Firestore) and may be shown to other players inside the game. Please don't enter your real name or anything personal — any name is fine. We store nothing else alongside it: no account, no email, no device identifier.
Information stored on your device
The game saves preferences such as your selected soundtrack and unlocked songs in your browser's or headset's local storage. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing the app's or browser's site data.
Information collected automatically
The game is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which — like any web host — processes standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. The game does not access your microphone, camera, location, or any physical-space data beyond what your headset's browser provides to render the game.
Children
DOWN is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Data removal
If you entered a name and would like it removed, email yellkellbusiness@gmail.com with the name you used and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we ever change what the game collects, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
